Figuring out whether someone is dealing with a bipolar disorder can be tricky – and should be left up to professionals. This is because many of the symptoms of bipolar mimic symptoms of other disorders. The person might have big mood swings, be depressed, or be moving around at warp speed. But there can be other indicators of bipolar that, by themselves, may not seem like much. However, taken as a whole, they could indicate the need for some professional help. Some examples include difficulty at work, unusual speech patterns, incomplete projects at home, sleeping too much, or getting too little sleep. Engaging in activities that are unusual for that person, such as impulsive business ventures or impulsive shopping are other indicators of the need for help.
